129 Rites of Passage with Sara Harris

Kathy is joined today by Sara Harris, a retired psychotherapist and the co-founder of EarthWays, where guides trained in wilderness rites of passage conduct programs out on the land to help people reconnect with the earth and themselves.

Sara is also on the board of VeteranRites, which is a rites of passage program that takes male and female veterans on vision quests to integrate their experiences.

Here’s what we cover:

  • What rites of passage are and why they’re so important;

  • Two key experiences that shaped the second half of Sara’s life;

  • What it’s like to embark on a wilderness quest; and

  • How listeners can better connect with nature in their daily lives.

This is a warm, wise and impactful offering that’s sure to help anyone who is interested in finding ways to mark significant life stages and events and connect more deeply to nature and themselves.
